Erasmus+ GreenVET Pathway Recognised as Best Practice with 94/100

ΣΒΙΕ: Erasmus+ Program GreenVet Pathways

A significant European achievement has been announced for the Erasmus+ GreenVET Pathway project, in which SBIE participates, following its successful final evaluation with an outstanding score of 94 out of 100 points and its recognition as a Best Practice.

This recognition is an important acknowledgment of the project's quality, impact and effectiveness, as well as of the strong collaboration among all the organisations and educational institutions involved in its implementation.

What is the GreenVET Pathway project?

GreenVET Pathway – Engaging VET in a Whole Institution Approach towards Sustainability is a European Erasmus+ project aiming to strengthen the role of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers in the green transition.

The project was launched in 2023 and brought together organisations from Germany, Greece, Finland, Cyprus, Italy, Latvia and Slovenia.

At the heart of GreenVET Pathway is the ambition to support VET institutions in becoming active contributors to the green transition, by embedding sustainability not only into teaching and learning, but also into their overall operation and organisational culture.

Sustainability across the whole educational institution

A key concept of the GreenVET Pathway project is the Whole Institution Approach.

According to this approach, sustainability should not be treated as a separate subject or an isolated educational activity. Instead, it should become an integral part of the entire educational environment.

This includes:

  • leadership, management and decision-making;
  • teaching, learning and curriculum development;
  • daily operations and infrastructure;
  • organisational culture;
  • the active involvement of educators, learners and staff;
  • and cooperation with the wider community.

In this way, sustainability moves beyond theory and becomes part of the everyday experience of the entire educational community.

SBIE's contribution to the project

As an educational institution with an active presence in European cooperation and Erasmus+ initiatives, SBIE contributed to the GreenVET Pathway's efforts to develop a European community of VET institutions committed to sustainable development.

Through the project's Community of Practice, VET institutions from across Europe had the opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and good practices, participate in transnational activities and explore practical ways to strengthen sustainability within their organisations.

The project also developed a range of tools and educational resources, including the GreenVET Framework, the GreenVET Database and the Online GreenVET Path, an interactive platform designed to help VET institutions assess and strengthen their approach to sustainability.

94/100 and Best Practice recognition

The project's final evaluation marks a particularly important achievement for all partners involved.

The GreenVET Pathway project received 94 out of 100 points and was officially recognised as a Best Practice.

This outstanding result reflects the quality of the project and the impact of the work carried out throughout its implementation. It is also a recognition of the collective commitment, teamwork, creativity and collaboration of all project partners and the associated educational institutions involved.

SBIE: Investing in European cooperation and the future of education

For SBIE, participation in the GreenVET Pathway project represents another important step towards promoting a modern approach to vocational education—one that responds to the evolving needs of society, the environment and the labour market.

The green transition is creating new demands for knowledge and skills, placing VET at the heart of preparing the professionals of tomorrow and fostering a new culture of sustainability.

The recognition of GreenVET Pathway as a Best Practice, with an outstanding score of 94/100, is a significant European achievement and a strong testament to the value of collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange.

At SBIE, we don't just prepare students for today. We prepare the professionals of tomorrow.
