Give Hope - Give Life!

So simple for you... so important for someone else!!!

We are pleased to inform you that on Wednesday, December 4th, at 12:00 PM, an informative session will be held at the school's auditorium with the topic: "How you can become a bone marrow donor. So simple for you... so important for someone else!!!"

Following the session, there will be a sample collection for those who wish to become bone marrow donors!

Why become a Volunteer Stem Cell/Bone Marrow Donor? Because you could be the only one with the power to save someone suffering from leukemia or another serious hematologic disease. When a patient needs a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, the search for a compatible donor is first initiated within the family (brother, sister).

Given that only 3 out of 10 patients will find a compatible family donor, for 70% of patients, the search extends to the National and Global Bone Marrow Donor Registry to find an appropriate match.

Finding a compatible, non-related donor is difficult, so it is crucial to continually increase the number of volunteer donors. Particularly, increasing the number of Greek volunteer bone marrow donors is essential because shared genetic ancestry increases the likelihood of compatibility.
